Beer Ice Cream Pie

So you know how there’s ice cream? And you know how there’s beer? And then you know that there is pie? Well one day I decide to put all these items into one dessert and had Beer Ice Cream Pie!

You will need the following ingredients to make your own Beer Ice Cream Pie:

3 cups whipping cream
1 cup cold dark beer (I recommend a chocolate stout)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup of nuts, chocolate chips or what ever you like in your ice cream
1 pie dish with oreo cookie crumble crust

The ice cream recipe is inspired by Betty Crocker’s Nutty Beer Ice Cream recipe.

You will start by making the ice cream as it is the longest part of the process:

Mix in a chilled bowl the whipping cream, beer, brown sugar and vanilla until it is well mixed.

Add the mixture to your ice cream maker and churn for the amount of minutes recommended by your machine.

After the allotted time to make the ice cream, remove it from the machine and fold in your nuts or chips. Spoon the mixture into the pie crust pan and smooth out the top of the pie. The ice cream will be slightly soft so you will want to place the pie back in the fridge (preferably overnight) to harden up the ice cream. Because the ice cream still has alcohol in it, it will not get as hard as typical ice cream.
