We were still in Montana on the second day of our trip to South Dakota. We would be traveling across Montana from Butte to Bozeman to Billings. I grabbed some breakfast from the hotel and eavesdropped on the conversations going on around me. It is what I do when I solo travel as it beats talking to myself in public and looking like a crazy. It appeared to be homecoming for The University of Montana (Go Griz!) and there were several individuals at the hotel attending the football game that day. I was pleased to not be hanging around Missoula for the day due to the extra people running around.
Boomer and I had reached the last day of our trip to Montana. Although I was sad that the trip was coming to an end, I was also about to embark on something I had never been able to do before, driving across The Going to the Sun Road! I had been to Glacier twice before over the years, once in May and once in July. The Going to the Sun Road had alluded me each time as it was closed due to snow.
Day two of our trip to Montana was full of driving from Missoula to Whitefish. Our first stop was The National Bison Range. According to my research it was best to visit in the morning as the animals would be most active during that time. Little did I know that would include Boomer as well!
